girlyswot: (gallery challenge)

I was inspired by this picture that [profile] gabrielladusult found and, since I wanted to take on the challenge of drawing people (which is my least favourite thing), it seemed a good thing to try and capture the spirit of the [profile] firemuses.  These are NOT intended to be recognisable portraits - though I know which one I want to be!  Any resemblance to actual people is purely luck not skill!!  But I did want us to look like we were having fun together and being a support to each other.  And, of course, we're wearing our little black robes.

So here's my picture. Pencil sketch, coloured in photoshop.

What do you think?

It's charming, and the black dresses definitely make it.

But their not being intended as recognizeable portraits takes the fun out of it. I kept trying to figure out who was supposed to be whom -- but then I realized that I don't know what some of you look like!

I LOVE it! You have captured a wonderful spirit that I definitely feel in our group. That's SO great! Now I wish we were more active with the group lately. Maybe this will jump start us again.

But I also don't know who anyone is, except I somehow think Mary is the tallest one. And since I could never carry off a strapless gown, I'm going to hope the second from the left is Gabby. Plus I recently straightened my hair with that Japanese system, so I have really straight hair! I think I have the darkest hair of the group in real life, so I'm going to go with the far right, though my hair is not that layered. She has a good flangsty expression on her face, though, so it's probably me! :D You're holding Mary's hand? Or she's leading you to go see Charlie? I think Charlie would find your plunging neckline very sexy, if you're the middle one.

Lovely, Ros!

I presume I'm not there because I'm slumped in a corner somewhere with a few empty bottles, toasting your writerly brilliance (and artisterly brilliance too). Lovely picture. (I've started your gift! I was going to work on the dress I have to make for a function next month but it was too hot to bother getting the sewng machine set up so I'm doing needlework instead.)

Sweet. You do look like you're having a good time. And as I'm not one of the firemuses, I guess I''m playing my fiddle for you to dance. (On another plane, I'm definitely a fiddler!)

Ros! Yay! It's so lovely. What a wonderful idea first of all. I love the joined hands in the middle and how the v almost makes a heart. Then the grouping of the girls and the dresses. Amy really looks right! (She's the only one of us I've met) Love all the LBRs and how artfully windswept our hair is.

I'm glad to know moonette's hair is still straight. I wondered about that.

I've been thinking about you this week. You'll see why soon. *thud of an anvil*

How lovely! I like the way you've grouped everyone, and the background is so pretty. :)

Just as I picture you all...

Black dresses and carefree attitudes...

While Amamama plays the fiddle and you dance under the moon, you can send all your children off to Grandma Kate's to bake cookies and watch Disney movies.

Wonderful pic! I'd settle for having the figures of any one of those gorgeous ladies, and being able to wear any of those Little Black Dresses ... *sigh*.

Think of me out in the kitchen, slaving away under Molly's eagle eye! Or if you like, imagine I've raced off with Sirius, who doesn't mind a slightly older 'woman with curves'. *winks*
