About 3 weeks after I moved here in September, one of my pillowcases ripped down the seam. At first it was a couple of inches, then a whole flap, then two flaps so that it was impossible to use. For about six months I have been meaning to mend this. I have had one pretty pillow with the white broderie anglaise case, and one plain one without on my bed. Today, I finally took the three minutes I needed to put white thread in the machine and resew the two seams. It is extraordinary how great is the sense of accomplishment that has followed this tiny task. I expect that if I had done it straight away I shouldn't even have noticed. Hmm.

Amazing how long it can take, isn't it? It's as if the job grows, just lying there. I know, I have something similar waiting. Maybe I should find those duvet covers now, instead of waiting until I try to put them on again and remember they need to be repaired? Tanks for reminding me, I had of course forgotten all about them until now. :)
