Accomplishment
About 3 weeks after I moved here in September, one of my pillowcases ripped down the seam. At first it was a couple of inches, then a whole flap, then two flaps so that it was impossible to use. For about six months I have been meaning to mend this. I have had one pretty pillow with the white broderie anglaise case, and one plain one without on my bed. Today, I finally took the three minutes I needed to put white thread in the machine and resew the two seams. It is extraordinary how great is the sense of accomplishment that has followed this tiny task. I expect that if I had done it straight away I shouldn't even have noticed. Hmm.

The Captain likes to sleep with his hand tucked into the pillow case and he is forever ripping the seams (which annoys me no end) but I just leave them all until there are almost none without rips and then sew them all at once. It is too much hassle (I spelt that Hassel the first time I typed it - too much Hoff *shudders*) with the little guy to get the machine out for such a small job.
