Check out her meme here and guess who I chose to write as...
Dear Miss Pen,
It is my honour to write to you as the Chairman of the Avonlea Village Improvement Society. Since its formation last summer, the Society has shown its dedication to the improvement of the village in a variety of ways. This winter, we would like to offer the residents of Avonlea the opportunity to improve their minds by providing a series of educational lectures and soirees.
The members of the committee which was formed to oversee this part of our work is very eager to secure your presence at one of these events. Our secretary, Miss Anne Shirley, is a tremendous admirer of your work and tells us that you have a most fascinating life-story. We invite you to spend an evening in our hall, which you will recognise as the bluest building on the Island, sharing interesting anecdotes and inspiring words. We can assure you of a most appreciative audience.
Should you be available to accept this invitation, you would, of course, be most welcome to stay with one of the Committee. Miss Shirley is particularly eager to offer you the spare room at her home, Green Gables. The Society has a small budget and would be able to pay your expenses and a small honorarium.
We would be grateful if you could let us know whether you will accept the invitation as soon as possible. If you are unavailable, I am afraid that we will be compelled to ask Uncle Abe to regale us with the story of his predictions again and we fear that Mrs Rachel Lynde will ask for her subscription back.
Yours truly,
Gilbert Blythe.
No, I bet that wasn't who Kelley was expecting either. It was fun though, so I might do another one.
