Ten themes

I've been writing some Charlie/Hermione over the last few days, partly for fun and partly as an exercise in trying to say much in few words.  I've taken the prompts from [profile] 10_themes and used them, in order, adhering strictly to a 100 word limit for each, to form the beginning of a story.  I'm also following a strict POV pattern, as a way of showing their developing relationship.  I wonder if that's working at all!

Anyway, if you're looking for a little escapist fun, the links are here.

Part One: In which the invalids are taken to The Burrow
Part Two: In which Charlie and Hermione spend time together, more or less reluctantly.

Oh, this is so beautiful, Ros! You do convey their feelings so well with so few words. The tension is rather touchable. Loved Harry just grabbing Hermione, and taking her to the Burrow. I wonder what on earth Dennis did, and you must let Charlie's hair come back again.

It's really working, I loved it and want more!

Thanks, Berte. I've no idea what Dennis did - you can use your imagination! I have plans to write three more sets like these two.

I just *love* Charlie. And I can tell that you do too by the way you write him. Even in such brief little snippets.

And like Amamama--I also liked how Harry just swept in unannounced and took Hermione to the Burrow. There's something very stirring about that image.

Oh, yes, he's cute. It's interesting the different effects you get doing this sort of exercise. Normally, I'd have taken much longer over a scene like the one with Harry, but because I had to get it into 100 words I think it's much more powerful.
