Here we go then:
1. Harry wins. Obviously.
One down.
2. Harry defeats Voldemort because of/by means of his love for Ginny and Ginny's for him. Aaaahhh.
No. I was quite surprised by this. He did think of her at the end, but it wasn't 'the power the Dark Lord knows not'
3. Ron and Hermione argue a lot but also kiss quite a lot.
Argue a lot. Kiss less than I thought, actually. I thought they'd started at the end of HBP. Lots of hugs though.
4. Snape remains an ambiguous character to the end. (I know, I know - there'll be tears and endless arguments - just think how much you'll all enjoy it!)
Well. Hmm. Sort of. We get his motivation and his primary allegiance. But I'd still argue that he's fairly morally ambiguous. And I was quite right about the endless arguments.
5. Charlie Weasley plays a starring (and obviously heroic) role in the book.
Oh well. But you did notice the scars and the arms? And obviously he was heroic during the battle, just offstage.
6. Percy realises the error of his ways and returns to the Good Side, but dies in the attempt.
Yes, he realises and returns. No he doesn't die.
7. No other Weasleys die. Except maybe Arthur or Molly.
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
8. Hagrid dies. And good riddance.
Still wrong.
9. Petunia turns out to be an all right sort in the end. Kind of. Vernon and Dudley do not.
No. I was really surprised by this.
10. The Trio never ever look remotely like the cover of the UK edition.
Well, I may have to eat humble pie here too. Given that in that scene they (a) are dressed in disguise and (b) are in a burning hot vault, I suppose they may have looked a bit like that picture. Strange choice for the cover though.
11. Draco turns to the Good Side and ends up snogging Hermione and/or Ginny. (Just checking to see if anyone's actually reading these.
)
Not quite and no. ;)
12. It all turns out to have been a terrible dream. There are no such things as witches or wizards. Harry ends by being checked into the local mental hospital. Oh but wouldn't it be funny?! (This will obviously be a familiar scenario to anyone who's read my story 'If the Giant Squid were a Horcrux')
No, I know, I know - not that kind of book.
So um, I make that a very generous 3/12. Not to mention the bet I lost with
rhetoretician. And no Weasley Quidditch match. I am officially the world's worst Divination student.
