Back safely

I can't believe how quickly the last six weeks have gone.  I've travelled the length and breadth of the UK and beyond, seen literally hundreds of people (three large parties celebrating various things happened to coincide with the trip), had the same conversation about life in America ad nauseam.  I've eaten fish and chips and drunk proper tea, I've had Indian takeaways and roast beef with yorkshire puddings.  There's been rain and sun and wind and thunder and lightning and everything that's ever been meant by 'changeable weather'.  I've been delayed on Virgin Trains and sat in traffic jams on the M6.  It's been fabulous!

And now I'm back in hot, sweaty Philadelphia with exam results (all fine), new laptop (shiny, flowery, beautiful), a mountain of unpacking (not begun), jet lag (woke up at 5am this morning), and a LOT of photos to upload and show you all.

Hah, so well stated. I could practically adopt that entire first paragraph as my own summary. Particularly the 'changeable weather' bit. I am currently sitting inside, cowering away from the unending rain that will surely melt me one of these days. I just know it.
