Friday five: books!
Dec. 15th, 2018 11:38 pm1. Do you enjoy receiving books as holiday or birthday gifts?
Not fiction, tbh. If I want to read it, I've almost certainly read it, and if I haven't, I'll want to have it on my kindle anyway. But non-fiction books with pictures are often excellent gifts: art, textiles, even recipe books and the like.
2. What book are you reading (or, what is the last book you read)?
Natalie Anderson's Awakening His Innocent Cinderella was last night's choice. I quite liked it. Relatively low angst M&B. Anderson used to write for the now extinct Modern Heat/Modern Extra/Riva line and you can tell that in her Moderns.
I'm also partway through Hannah Anderson's (no relation, I assume), All That's Good.
3. Are you enjoying (or, did you enjoy) that book? Why or why not?
See above for Natalie Anderson's.
I think I'm enjoying All That's Good, but there has been quite a long hiatus. I'm just about ready to get back to some regular non-fiction. I try to read a chapter of non-fiction before my nightly fiction-fix but I fell out of the habit when work got crazy busy a few months ago.
4. About how many books do you read in an average year?
So far this year it's about 250. I think that's probably about normal.
5. What are some of the books on your to-read pile (or list)
Lethal White
Echoes of Exodus
But mostly, I don't keep long TBR lists. I buy books as I read them.
