Since I always get the stories with author names attached, I assume that this will be an easy task for everyone. But once again, I'm amazed at how tricky this game is. Anyway, without further ado, I would like to announce the winners of the 2008 Secret Santa Flist Fic Exchange Guess The Author Competition:

In third place (good effort, could do better) with five correctly guessed authors: [livejournal.com profile] tdu000.

In second place (excellent work, well done) with six correctly guessed authors: [livejournal.com profile] grandma_kate.

And, for the second year in a row, proving herself the best guesser, stalker, sleuth among us, with seven correctly guessed authors: [livejournal.com profile] stmargarets. Congratulations, St M. A prize will be coming your way shortly.

So, now to the bit you've all been waiting for. Ladies and gentlemen, I can now reveal the authors of this year's stories, in no particular order...

[livejournal.com profile] ladywhizbee wrote For Now for [livejournal.com profile] grandma_kate
[livejournal.com profile] girlyswot wrote Father Christmas for [livejournal.com profile] ladywhizbee
[livejournal.com profile] grandma_kate wrote Monica's Memories for [livejournal.com profile] stmargarets
[livejournal.com profile] kinderjedi wrote Lovely for [livejournal.com profile] nundu_art
[livejournal.com profile] gabrielladusult wrote Christmas in July for [livejournal.com profile] hfleming8
[livejournal.com profile] nundu_art wrote Christmas in Romania for [livejournal.com profile] girlyswot and Charlie.
[livejournal.com profile] stmargarets wrote The Flat and Part Two for [livejournal.com profile] kinderjedi
[livejournal.com profile] megan29 wrote Rome for Christmas for [livejournal.com profile] gabrielladusult
[livejournal.com profile] hfleming8 wrote Harry's Wish for [livejournal.com profile] megan29

Authors, please feel free to post your stories elsewhere if you wish. Thank you all for taking part. Happy Christmas!

I think I there should be a prize for most obvious-not-even-trying-to-be-secret writer. :)

I'll go leave some reviews today. I haven't done that yet.

Thanks for creating another exchange, Ros. And for the record, the real Santa/FatherChristmas/Chris Kringle has blue eyes. :)

I thought that would have been me, but judging from the poll, apparently not. ;)

Me too (I mean I thought I was obvious with all the dialog and grinning etc.) -- but I don't think everyone got me (which just means I need to write more samplings for people to read).

Hear, hear! I didn't guess yours correctly, even though I read your Remus story long ago, and greatly enjoyed it. But... it *was* long ago, and I really don't know your style.

I also meant to say: Congrats, Mary! No wonder you win year after year - you know everyone, right down to their fingertips! *g*

I didn't get yours. I had two down to you and Nundu and in the end put them the wrong way round (but were right on the short list). Next year I'll look for grinning! I actually picked them on the sense of humour running through the stories rather than the writing style and tried to match it to the lj posts. Obviously I couldn't differentiate between the two of you.

Umm, I wrote "Rome for Christmas" not "Christmas in Romania."

Well, it's both got something with Christmas, and Rom**

Is it any wonder that people ask Ros at parties whether she plans to live in Romania? The vibes are radiating off her. *g*

Well done Ros and all the authors! Reading them all was a fun way to pass the days until Christmas week came at last.

Happy Christmas to all and to all a good morning!

Between Christmas prep and a child with stomach flu, I haven't been able to read much. But I sure enjoyed Mary's part I and I started Megan's. I'll try to get back to these as well - relaxing reading at bedtime. Kudos to everyone who finished such wonderful stories at such a busy time. You're all amazing.

I was wondering where you disappeared, after the online party. Oh, stomach flu is no fun - hope it's all cleared up now.

Oh! I missed all the fun--which I knew I would due to traveling--but *still*. I've missed the last three stories so I'll have to go in a read them and write reviews. *must do*

I'm insanely curious, though, is there a way to know which story was guessed the most correctly, second-correctly, and so on? I would love to know which came in first on the list--since you seem to imply that yours didn't, which is incredibly hard to believe!

btw, Ros, thank you again for my story! *hugs*

If you go back to the poll post and click on 'View Answers' below each question you can see who voted for what. I'm pretty sure that Mary's was the most correctly-guessed.
