Well, I don't mind doing this since [personal profile] stmargaretstagged me, but I'm not going to tag anyone else. Hope that's okay. If you're reading this and would like to do this meme, consider yourself tagged.

Oh, and since I have no imagination about these things, I may have copied slightly...

THE RULES:

Post to your journal 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself. Those who get tagged need to blog your own journal with those 10 weird things/habits/little known facts. Then chose 6 people to be tagged and list their lj names. No tagbacks...

Ten Little Known Facts About Me!

1. 5 months of living in the States and I still have an unadulterated English accent. Hooray!

2. I don't know how to drive an automatic car and was very relieved to find a cheap manual to buy out here. I did, however, fail my PA driving test so I'm still driving on my international licence and need to do the test again sometime before August.

3. I hate to drive, too. Sadly I find that where I'm living I have to drive practically everywhere!

4. There is no lighthouse on my street. There was, however, a windmill in the town where I grew up.

5. I never know when the Super Bowl is playing or what teams are competing. Super Bowl? Is that like an enormous serving dish?

6. I'd never choose to have a pet. Since moving here I've lived temporarily with two of the most enormous cats I've ever seen. One has since died and the other is seriously ill.

7. There's almost no ship that I can't find some morbid curiosity in me to read. Though things involving Snape are generally squicky.

8. I've been writing fanfic for at least twenty years. Long before I knew such a thing existed. I'd never expected anyone else to be interested in reading it or that I would be brave enough to show it to anyone. English wasn't my best thing at school, by a long way, and it's hard for a mathematician/physicist to think that they might have a way with words or an understanding of people.

9. I desperately miss having a garden. One day, I still live in hope, I will have a home of my own with a garden of my own to make and care for.

10. I've only been asked out once. Terrifying, embarrassing (when I told him I thought he should get over it), exciting, flattering (in retrospect). So I identify with Hermione when she wonders why people don't notice that she's a girl.

Well, not too many people have lighthouses at the end of their street, so don't feel bad. :) Windmills are cool because they move!

LOL - on the asking out. You're not dead yet - who knows maybe these American men will be more forthcoming. Like I told Snarkhunter, it's not how many - it's being asked out by the right one.

LOL - on the ship curiosity. Tell me, how do Ron/Cho shippers work that out? Pennylane wants Ron/Cho and darned if I know how I'm going to pull that one off.

Ron/Cho. Hmm, not sure I've seen that before. Maybe Cho's stopped weeping everywhere but she's still looking for her 'hero' to protect her and, since she's burned her boats with Harry, she turns to Ron as the next best thing? And he might quite like someone less independent than Hermione.

Congratulations on keeping your accent! The American accent seems to be a very easy one to pick up. I've been in Australia for 13 years and still don't have an Aussie one, although I have picked up some of the slang. Would you like to come and do my garden form me?

I'd love to - all those fabulous exotic things you can grow out in Australia. Might be a bit far for the day to day upkeep though.

You could listen to all our ISIHAC tapes on the walkman as you garden. I can provide cups of tea on demand as well!
