Accomplishment

About 3 weeks after I moved here in September, one of my pillowcases ripped down the seam. At first it was a couple of inches, then a whole flap, then two flaps so that it was impossible to use. For about six months I have been meaning to mend this. I have had one pretty pillow with the white broderie anglaise case, and one plain one without on my bed. Today, I finally took the three minutes I needed to put white thread in the machine and resew the two seams. It is extraordinary how great is the sense of accomplishment that has followed this tiny task. I expect that if I had done it straight away I shouldn't even have noticed. Hmm.

I'm afraid that I am rather a procrastinator on some tasks. I decide that I could pack away the sheets that match the thick quilt yesterday. I hadn't remembered that one of the dark brown pillowcases had gone missing until I took that set from the linen cupboard. So I have brown sheets this week and dear Oatmeal has a brown pillowcase and I have a hunter green one. I wonder if one of the grandkids packed his or her dirty clothes in the missing pillowcase after a visit?

Good on ya' Ros.
