Grrr!

This morning, I decided to take a few hours off and go shopping.  This was partly brought on by noticing yesterday that my favourite pair of jeans (and the only ones that really fit properly) are now sporting holes in embarrassing places.  So I went to Lane Bryant and spent about half an hour with a helpful shop assistant who measured me and helped me find the right fit and size and shape and so on.  But they didn't have the ones I actually wanted in stock (wrong colour).  So she said she'd order them for me.  Great.

When I got to the till, the friendly helpful assistant was busy with another customer so I got the other girl.  I explained what I wanted - which admittedly was quite complicated: size, leg length, fit, shape and colour.  I told her that I didn't want the colour I'd tried on which was a dark rinse, I wanted the lighter stonewashed ones.  She nodded in that vague kind of way you do when you're not really listening.  I told her again.  I still wasn't sure she'd heard.

So when I got home and found the confirmation email - surprise, surprise, she'd ordered the dark rinse jeans.  I tried contacting customer support - too late.

So now, I have to wait for them to be delivered, take them back to the shop and try again.

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying rather more of a breeze round my privates than is entirely decent.  And feeling like the world is against me and I'm no match for it.

That's so frustrating when they can't be bothered to listen! *throws hands up* Shouldn't be that hard, should it? Customer support had closed, or customer support said it was too late to do something with the faulty order? Honestly, what is this? They should be scrambling to set things right (and apologise profusely). I know what you mean about that breeze... that's exactly why I'm a bit sad I didn't get as far as the right jeans store in NYC. I just have to go to London, then... *grins* All my jeans have extra ventilation at the moment. *shakes head* Really need to do something about that wardrobe of mine. Until I get new jeans, I'll just have to put a long sweater on top, and nobody notices. I hope. ;)

*hugs*

Frustrating is definitely the word. You knew they weren't paying attention but hey didn't pay attention to you telling them they weren't paying attention. Oh well, I'm sure Charlie will aprreciate your privates, however breezy! Because, as Moonette says, if we talk about it and write about it enough it's real!

Unless I am in a *real* hurry, I have found in those situations that it is better to wait for the original person to become free again.

You can always add patchwork to your jeans you know!! Terribly trendy, and avoids chilling parts of your anatomy that are generally best kept warm ...

I guess today was the day for "customer service" angst.

Try being on the phone for an hour with various "support" representatives from your hospital and health insurance. Which insurance does not pay the bill directly to the hospital, but - for some extremely obscure reason - to an intermediate company, which in turn pays the hospital. In the process, hundreds of dollars get "lost" in bank transfers, there are 3 different amounts for the claim submitted (the hospital's, the insurance company's, and the intermediate company's), everyone denies responsibility, everyone sends me to one of the other 2 parties involved, and the bottom line is that I am being threatened with a collection agency for a bill that I should NOT have to pay.

In fact, the only reason I could determine so far for the existence of that intermediate company is so that my insurance company can give me the run-around and delay paymeny for 9 months (!!). I guess they hope I'll give up and pay their part, too. Which I may have to do in the end, as I can't afford to get my credit ruined over this.

Yeah, sorry for the rant on your journal - but it seemed like the right mood. :-)

Oh, bummer! You were soo close to a new pair of jeans that fit. But at least you know they exist and will soon be in your possession. There is nothing more elusive than jeans/swimsuit/bra that fit. Unicorns are easier to find sometimes believe me. (And I'm no maiden - LOL)

Oh wow...sorry for that. It seems like shop asistant are bored out of their minds and can't be bothered when you need them, or over bearing and fawning over you when you don't want them. Of course when you want them to listen, they're not. You sltrike out either way. Cheer up. You'll be getting jeans soon enough.

So you're syaing you don't want to flaunt your bits in public??? CHK doesn't understand lol

That is so annoying when that happens - I hope it gets sorted soon.

Hey - the Road Ahead needs someone to play Charlie Weasley *wink wink*

The world is NOT against you, really! It's just that the check out girl is a dumb ass. (Did I just type that? Sorry.)

That is HIGHLY annoying. Did she remind you of the check out girl you wrote about in your short story?

Maybe you should just order the right pair of jeans and then simply return the wrong ones without waiting for the exchange. Then you're sure to get the ones you want instead of them running out.

So dragons burning holes in your jeans again, huh? You really must be more careful!

Oh, Ros! How frustrating. Life should *not* be this complicated. Really! *sigh*

Well, you know, you could go back and order the pair you want (while waiting for the others to arrive) and return the pair you don't want once they arrive. That might get you your jeans faster...

But still, you shouldn't have to do that at all...particularly after all the effort you went through to figure it out in the first place!

*big hug*

How irritating. Hopefully they'll be able to get the correct color for you soon. I don't know if there's a Lane Bryant Outlet near you, but they may still have what you want in stock even if the regular store doesn't - I've noticed that on occasion at the one near here.
