Hear. Hear. Unfortunately, JKR seems very keen to share her ideas with us. You'd have thought she would have by now, but I think maybe she hasn't quite twigged the obvious point that until you actually WRITE something into the story, you won't find out if the first idea you had was the best one. Ron and Harry as Aurors - nice and simple for the kiddies, but that's NOT the story she's given us in DH and, personally, I'd have been a lot happier with my misty dreams of Harry the house husband. Or something, because that's probably not what he'd end up doing if I were going to write it - which I'm not.
And I can understand her shipping Neville and Luna together - Luna's the only 'spare' female (if you conveniently ignore the Dean / Luna foreshadowing she seems to have forgotten she put in there, like the pictures in Luna's room and Dean holding his hand out to her in the RoR - or does that just mean he's OMG!sexist again? *pats lovely Dean*) I digress. So .... Luna gets page time and no wonder JKR wants her and Neville to be happy together. But it's not part of the story, because if she meant it to be, it should bloody well be in there doing something.
