So, in my trawl through the old fluff thread (which actually is proving both educational and entertaining and providing lots of helpful ideas and inspiration for What I Might Write Next), I came across a very old Mary Sue which I think [profile] gabrielladusultmade reference to when we had the Mary Sue challenge.

I link here because it literally made me laugh out loud.  Especially the genes line.  Genius!

Oh, and isn't it interesting that Charlie's always been the character of choice for Mary Sue's?  Must be those arms.

LOL - Amy is a brilliant writer. Did you know I stole was inspired by her to write George/Padma in Roger and Lisa? I named the twins after Amy and Annette and of course, I shipped her user name. Ah, the fluff threads. I'm sure you'll find all sorts of things to bring up. :)

I never knew which of all those things came first! I imagined you had Padma and George and then she got inspired. Of course, I realised that you must have named your Amy and Annette after them and not vice versa!

It's now becoming a minor ambition of mine to appear in a St M fic. Pretty please?

BTW, did you ever call for screenplay links?

Absoulutely. Ros should be in a story. Is it Ros for Roaslind? Rosalyn? I want to make sure I have it right.

I never called for screenplay links since there were so few of us. I should do that at the bunker party, though. Remind me!

Rosalind. Though I only get called that when my mother's telling me off.

It could just be that anyone shallow enough to write a Mary Sue is also shallow enough to be impressed by a bit of brawn!

I can't believe I didn't pick up Amy and Annette despite being aware that Mary likes to insert the names of her friends into her stories. I'm now feeling just so slow. Maybe she'll write a stalker called Ros (or Miss Swot) into her Charlie and Kathleen fic.

I rather liked this comment from Gabriella's post too:

"moonette, I'm glad that you said Mary was supposed to be shallow. I wasn't getting a good vibe from her at all".

I have to confess that when Snape called me Miss Swot on the Planet of the Snapes April Fools' thread, I did quite enjoy it in a naughty kind of way.

I noticed you liked it! Poor Charlie. Oh well at least it didn't spoil the wedding plans.

*whispers* No need for 'poor Charlie' - he's found he can get away with calling me that too sometimes. In private, obviously. *grins*

LOL indeed

Ah those were the days when Mary would issue a challenge and I could write one or two responses in an instant. I think Charlie is a good target for Mary Sues because he appeals to both young and adult women (as opposed to creating a Mary Sue for Harry or Draco who are students and thus...ew) and there's no question of his loyalty.
