1. Are you an Essential Worker?
No, but I am working from home. From next week, I am planning to go into my office one day a week to do the things I can't do at home.
2. How many drinks have you had since the quarantine started?
I found a can of G&T at the back of the fridge, so I had that.
3. If you have kids... Are they driving you nuts?
I don't have kids.
4. What new hobby have you taken up during this?
No new hobbies, but I have done a lot more gardening than I've done for years, and I've also started spinning again, and I've done a lot of dressmaking.
5. How many grocery runs have you done?
One big one to Tesco (for me and my parents) plus two smaller ones to little Coop.
6. What are you spending your stimulus check on?
If only. I am very grateful to keep receiving my salary as normal right now.
7. Do you have any special occasions that you will miss during this quarantine?
Niece's 5th birthday. Easter. My birthday. A nuno felting course. Trip to Gardeners World Live at the NEC.
I am still hoping that my painting holiday in Devon in July might happen. We'll see.
8. Are you keeping your housework done?
Yes. Better than normal, honestly. I have de-cobwebbed the house and scrubbed the floor. Don't ask when I last did either...
9. What movies have you watched during this quarantine?
I don't really watch films. I'm watching TV and YouTube and listening to the radio, and that's plenty.
10. What are you streaming with?
iPlayer and YouTube.
11. 9 months from now is there any chance of you having a baby?
Literally none. Unless the Lord decides that the world needs another virgin birth, and not just in the pages of a Lynne Graham M&B.
12. What's your go-to quarantine meal?
I've been eating pretty much normally, with a range of different things.
13. Is this whole situation making you paranoid?
Not really. I did have a slight panic at one point that I was getting a fever, but I think it was just a hot flush.
14. Has your internet gone out on you during this time?
Yes, but it's holding up better than I expected. I've had a couple of days of it dropping out every few minutes, but that is normal. And it's managed all but one of my Zoom meetings.
15. What month do you predict this all ends?
I think that depends what you mean by 'all'. I think lockdown restrictions will be relaxed at some point in May, probably, but I don't think that will be the end, and we might have another period of stricter lockdown later. I think that it'll be at least 12 months before there's an effective vaccine. I think that the economic effects will last for years. And I think people will still be getting and dying from Covid-19 for a long, long time into the future.
16. First thing you’re gonna do when you get off quarantine?
Art class! But, honestly, I'm mostly very happy with my current lifestyle. I am fortunate to have a really lovely home, that I enjoy being in. It's been good to get the garden back under control. I don't feel like I've reached my limit of being on my own, or that I'm craving company. I have had to put a daily goal in my diary of making sure I speak to a person, because I would quite happily go for days and days without, and it's not good for me.
17. Where do you wish you were right now?
Here is just fine.
18. What free-from-quarantine activity are you missing the most?
Art class. I am doing some art at home. I signed up for an online sketchbook course and that's been good. But I miss doing it with other people.
19. Have you run out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer?
Nope. Actually I noticed my handwash was nearly finished this morning, but I checked and there's another bottle in the cupboard. I did have to buy shea butter infused toilet paper at one point, which is awful and was much more expensive than my normal kind, but I've now got a pack of normal ones to go back to when I've finished the abomination.
20. Do you have enough food to last a month?
I don't think it would be impossible to survive for a month, but it would get pretty miserable very quickly. There would be a lot of lentils. I'm going to the supermarket today, because I'm almost entirely out of vegetables, fruit and cheese, and the milk goes out of date today. Plus it's my birthday tomorrow, so I'm going to get something nice for dinner.
