Guess the Author results and Secret Santas revealed

Since I always get the stories with author names attached, I assume that this will be an easy task for everyone. But once again, I'm amazed at how tricky this game is. Anyway, without further ado, I would like to announce the winners of the 2008 Secret Santa Flist Fic Exchange Guess The Author Competition:

In third place (good effort, could do better) with five correctly guessed authors: [livejournal.com profile] tdu000.

In second place (excellent work, well done) with six correctly guessed authors: [livejournal.com profile] grandma_kate.

And, for the second year in a row, proving herself the best guesser, stalker, sleuth among us, with seven correctly guessed authors: [livejournal.com profile] stmargarets. Congratulations, St M. A prize will be coming your way shortly.

So, now to the bit you've all been waiting for. Ladies and gentlemen, I can now reveal the authors of this year's stories, in no particular order...

[livejournal.com profile] girlyswot wrote Father Christmas for [livejournal.com profile] ladywhizbee

I think I there should be a prize for most obvious-not-even-trying-to-be-secret writer. :)

I'll go leave some reviews today. I haven't done that yet.

Thanks for creating another exchange, Ros. And for the record, the real Santa/FatherChristmas/Chris Kringle has blue eyes. :)

I thought that would have been me, but judging from the poll, apparently not. ;)

Me too (I mean I thought I was obvious with all the dialog and grinning etc.) -- but I don't think everyone got me (which just means I need to write more samplings for people to read).

Hear, hear! I didn't guess yours correctly, even though I read your Remus story long ago, and greatly enjoyed it. But... it *was* long ago, and I really don't know your style.

I also meant to say: Congrats, Mary! No wonder you win year after year - you know everyone, right down to their fingertips! *g*

I didn't get yours. I had two down to you and Nundu and in the end put them the wrong way round (but were right on the short list). Next year I'll look for grinning! I actually picked them on the sense of humour running through the stories rather than the writing style and tried to match it to the lj posts. Obviously I couldn't differentiate between the two of you.
