Lady Jane

02. Name a movie that you've seen multiple times in a theatre.
Jerry Maguire

03. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie.
Shirley Henderson

04. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie.
Harrison Ford

05. Name a movie that you can quote from.
The Sound of Music

06. Name a movie musical that you know all the lyrics to all the songs.
All of them Guys and Dolls

07. Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with.
Well, this is tricky. I do sing along a lot but only with no one else in the room. So no one actually knows this. Except you now, and you won't tell, will you?

08. Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see.
Moulin Rouge. Or, in fact, any of Baz Luhrmann's films. I think that he is the greatest genius in the cinema at the moment. ETA Mark Kermode has just announced that he will be interviewing Luhrmann on The Culture Show this time next week about his new film, Australia. I am quite excited about this.

09. Name a movie that you own.
The Holiday. I think it is a sign of how homesick I was when I first saw this in the US that I was ridiculously excited to see that Jude Law's daughter had the same Laura Ashley duvet cover I did.

10. Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.
Keeley Hawes

11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in?.
No.

12. Ever made out in a movie?.
No.

13. Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven't gotten around to it.
I had Schindler's List on video for about 4 years before I realised I was never going to be in the right mood to watch it.

14. Ever walked out of a movie?
No.

15. Name a movie that made you cry in the theater.
Lots. I remember sobbing my way through Howards End. Most recently, Atonement which left me in such a state I couldn't drive home.

16. Popcorn?
Oh, yes.

17. How often do you go to the movies?
I haven't been for ages. Mamma Mia back in August. I tend to go in phases - I'll go three or four times in a few weeks and then not for months. Obviously, it also depends what's on.

18. What's the last movie you saw in the theater?
Mamma Mia. We didn't go to the sing-along version, though I kind of wish we had!

19. What is your favorite/preferred genre of movie?
Rom com. Historical drama. Anything with a happy ending. I think there's enough gritty realism in real life. I don't want to be scared or made sad, I want to escape into a nicer, safer, prettier, happier world.

20. What was the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?
Mickey's Christmas Carol. Or The Fox and the Hound. Which was earlier?

21. What movie do you wish you had never seen?
Goldeneye. I was pretty happy with my unbroken record of never having seen a Bond film. I've never seen a Star Wars film either.

22. What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?
Well, it's not weird exactly, but it's a film I really didn't expect to enjoy nearly as much as I do: Mr and Mrs Smith.

23. What is the scariest movie you've ever seen?
I tend to avoid scary films and those that I do see get blanked out quite quickly. I don't know if it's scary exactly but I did find the Remains of the Day absolutely chilling.

24. What is the funniest movie you've ever seen?
I don't know if it actually is the funniest but I was really impressed by how funny I still found Four Weddings And A Funeral when I saw it a couple of weeks ago.

I'm going to add a question:
25. What is the most uplifting movie you've ever seen?
Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Especially the scene where he's singing on the carnival float. This film always makes me happy.
