So, in trying to get access to a Google Group, I seem to have disabled my gmail account. They've sent instructions for recovery to an email address I no longer have access to. In 5 days time, I should be able to reactivate my account (if I can remember the answer to the security question!). In the meantime, um, leave me a comment here?

Okay, I decided I couldn't cope for a whole 5 days.

NOBODY PANIC!!!!

Turns out I can access my normal email account, just not on Firefox. Anyone know why this might be the case? I can't even get to the temporary account I set up on Firefox, either.

You could just open another gmail account until that is taken care of.

How are you?

Teenage angst was exactly why I left teaching, LOL. I'm sure you'll be fine.

So what do you do now? and I just wish I was teaching university again . . . but I can't afford to be an adjunct anymore.

PhD student. I left teaching in 1999 though I have done bits of part time work since, as well as various other things to pay the bills. Last year I was teaching Greek at the seminary where I was studying. This year, I'm starting again at a different college, so I don't know what work will be available.

My husband understands Greek! When he was a teenager, he visited a friend in Greece. They corresponded. He then took a course in it. Still remembers a lot of it.

My icon is Greek, but David told me it's Greek jibberish...not supposed to mean anything.

I don't speak modern Greek, I'm afraid. I read NT Greek.

Try deleting the cookies from google: Edit -> Preferences -> Privacy -> Cookies. There's a list of cookies from google.com, which you have to delete (however, note that in doing so, you'll lose your preference settings - such as language, nr. of search results per page, and anything else you personalized). You also have to delete the cache: Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cache. Let me know if it works.

It seems to have resolved itself now, anyway. Thanks for the help, though.
