Festival of Britain Day
Today is Festival of Britain Day over at

I am just about getting used to the noise my heels make in the otherwise silent library. No one has yet commented on the outfit, nor even raised an eyebrow. I think this says more about the kind of people I spend my days with and their utter lack of interest in appearance, than it does about me. Still, at least no one's asked me if I'm pregnant yet, which makes it a definite improvement on yesterday.

I love your comment about being asked if you are pregnant! My husband has unfortunately had experience with being the "asker" - we were at a wedding and the woman next to him was talking to me about my outfit. I complimented hers as being cute - it was one of those rayon print "rompers" or whatever that were popular briefly about 10 years ago ... empire waisted one piece with very flowy, full pants. Anyway, she replied that her husband had told her not to wear it because it made her look like she was "7 months along." The conversation moved on. Later, during a lull, hubby asked her when she was due. He thought she really did look pregnant and thought the 7 month comment meant she just was not that far along yet! I've been asked myself 2-3 times -whenever I try to wear a babydoll style top.
Oh well.
