It's a very special day...

At a cold ice rink, somewhere in the wilds of Nova Scotia, a group of 9 year old hockey stars are huddled around their coach. Up in the stands a shivering group of moms wearing thick coats are watching with a mixture of pride and boredom. A man wearing a long dark overcoat slips unobtrusively into the stands, making his way towards them. His eyes are searching out one in particular: a tall, slim, woman wearing a turtle-neck and jeans who has a notebook and pencil in hand. She seems to be writing…

'Mary? Mary Carroll?'

The woman turns in surprise. All the other moms, the boys out on the rink and the coach, a particularly handsome man who looks like he would be capable of flashing a wireless router and clearing out a hard drive without blinking an eyelid, are watching with big grins that suggest they are all in on the secret.

The man smiles broadly, producing a large red leather book and a microphone. His voice booms out, 'St Margarets, welcome to your 'Days of Destiny.'

LiveJournal says I'm not authorized to read the part behind the cut. Please fix.

And if I'm reading it right, Mary isn't authorized to read it either.

Yes, I know. We're not quite ready to go live. Mary shouldn't be able to see this post yet. When it's ready, I'll unlock it to everyone, and unlock everything on the days of destiny site.

I can't wait.

You don't have to!

You and moonnette have done an incredible job. It must have taken hours just to organize the content, and that's on top of writing the Days of Destiny AND the This Is Your Life shows. Congratulations, this is so amazing, and I hope Mary will enjoy it even more than us.

We didn't write TIYL - that was all King William's work!

Thanks so much for your contribution - that must have taken you hours too.

Thank you too! I loved Harry's version of the wedding night, and he was so cute at the microphone too.

Thank you! I'm glad it worked well for this whole project. The way it all pulled together worked brilliantly!!

Thank you for pulling it all together...

[identity profile] grandma-kate.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Ros, this is absolutely marvelous! You've take rather disparate pieces and made it into a polished whole. I am sure that Mary will know how much we respect and love her.

[identity profile] ladywhizbee.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
WOW! This is excellent. Thank you so much for putting it all together. I have no idea how you managed it--particularly all the layers--but it's wonderful! I can't wait for Mary to see it... *GRIN*

[identity profile] kinderjedi.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
This is such a wonderful idea! I was managing to read along somewhat composedly here at work, but the appearance of Guy Smiley had me giggling madly. I can't wait for St. Mags to read it. :D

[identity profile] tdu000.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Well done for getting all this together, at a time when you're having your own difficulties. There's a lot of hard work gone into this. Everyone's entries were wonderful. I'm surprised Will didn't acquire an extra scar or two in the process.

Happy Birthday Mary.

[identity profile] moonette1.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Quick, TDU - what would you suggest for a extra scar? Will's still at the police station, but I'm sure our schedule can accommodate a new scar when I go and bail him out.

[identity profile] tdu000.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I replied but obviously didn't post properly (I was just about to take Little Yyke to school so was in a hurry!).

Police brutality! Because Will is Scottish they couldn't understand a word he was saying and because he is Scottish they assumed he was hurling a string of obscenities at them. Consequently, he suffered a slight "accident" which left him with another scar on which ever part of his body you fancy (or will fancy when it has an improving scar) and possibly a really manly black eye.

[identity profile] moonette1.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, scar accompanied by black eye? Me thinks I will stop at a lingerie store on the way to the police station. ;)

[identity profile] tdu000.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Do you have an account? I bet you spend an absolute fortune on lingerie as the less fabric used, the more the item usually costs.

I, of course, don't wear, lingerie, just underwear!

[identity profile] moonette1.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
By the way, You ALWAYS have me laughing. I want your sense of humor!

[identity profile] tdu000.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Well you obviously share my sense of humour if you find me amusing.

I got a new icon especially to accompany my "testamonial" and then forgot all about it!

[identity profile] moonette1.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
What vintage? (Although the paper bag does not bode well.)

[identity profile] tdu000.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
You have no idea how hard it was to find an image of a bottle of wine in a paper bag. I thought that all I had to do was do a search on the three words and I'd find one but they were all wrapped up in fancy paper and weren't the least bit suitable for a wino!

[identity profile] moonette1.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
LOL! Shhh. Don't call yourself a wino. People might find out you drink a lot!

[identity profile] girlyswot.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
That's a great icon. You'll be able to use it at all our parties...

[identity profile] tdu000.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
And retire Young(ish) Albus? Maybe alternate with him so I have both wine and a drinks waiter!

[identity profile] moonette1.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps you can send him to sommelier school. Just a thought.

[identity profile] stmargarets.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG! Look at all of this! I can't believe how much work all of you put into this. Thank you, thank you.

I recognized Bill's contribution right away. I'll sign up for the community and then I'm going to read at my leisure and leave everyone lots of comments. I don't know if I can get to everyone's comments tonight, but I hope to.

What an amazing surprise!

[identity profile] moonette1.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Poor Mary. Now the work begins! *evil grin*

LOLOL Yeah, I agree/Annette... NOW you get to work on your b'day!! I hope it's fantabulous!! :-)

WOW! That was AMAZING! You all did a great job!
