Gallery Challenge Entry

I was inspired by this picture that [profile] gabrielladusult found and, since I wanted to take on the challenge of drawing people (which is my least favourite thing), it seemed a good thing to try and capture the spirit of the [profile] firemuses.  These are NOT intended to be recognisable portraits - though I know which one I want to be!  Any resemblance to actual people is purely luck not skill!!  But I did want us to look like we were having fun together and being a support to each other.  And, of course, we're wearing our little black robes.

So here's my picture. Pencil sketch, coloured in photoshop.

What do you think?

I LOVE it! You have captured a wonderful spirit that I definitely feel in our group. That's SO great! Now I wish we were more active with the group lately. Maybe this will jump start us again.

But I also don't know who anyone is, except I somehow think Mary is the tallest one. And since I could never carry off a strapless gown, I'm going to hope the second from the left is Gabby. Plus I recently straightened my hair with that Japanese system, so I have really straight hair! I think I have the darkest hair of the group in real life, so I'm going to go with the far right, though my hair is not that layered. She has a good flangsty expression on her face, though, so it's probably me! :D You're holding Mary's hand? Or she's leading you to go see Charlie? I think Charlie would find your plunging neckline very sexy, if you're the middle one.

Lovely, Ros!

LOL! I'm glad you like it. I definitely had you down for the strapless gown - there's no need to be modest. Will thinks you can carry it off, no problem. And I'm the one on the far left that you have your arm around. I wanted us to be giggling together, but I'm so bad at faces and expressions, that I had to settle for anything that looked recognisably human. Of course, we all look sexy in our LBR's!!!

The absolute funniest part of this is that the one you say is me actually looks (and I'm not exaggerating) EXACTLY how I've pictured Gabby for years. Until I saw her pic with Contessa recently.

LOL! Well, in your mind she can be Gabby. It's all in the eye of the beholder, after all!

I could never carry off a strapless gown And why is that? No Dolly Parton-chest? That's a blessing, I'm forever grateful I'm not hit by that curse. I knew a girl who was, and she had real trouble... A properly made strapless gown has boning to keep it up, as well as being made to snuggle every curve. You could wear it even if you are flat as a board. So there. :p

Berte - you're always so sweet and positive. Thank you, sweetie. And have a wonderful trip!

I don't mind strapless, I've got the shoulders for it -- but the muse with the strapless dress has lighter, longer and curlier hair than I have ever sported (well, I did used to get home perms from my mom that made my hair that curly, but it's been almost 20 years since that happened). And the dress is way too short -- I've got sexy shoulders, but the legs of -- a very heavy-legged woman (I'm so original with my metaphors!). Anyway, if I could let down the hem a bit, that would be ok.
