I'm not sure we actually need another Austen adaptation...

...but given that we're apparently getting one, I'm quite excited that Romola Garai is going to be Emma, and very excited indeed that Jonny Lee Miller is going to be Mr Knightley.

Good Lord, how is Jonny Lee Miller old enough to play Mr Knightley? Where did the time go?

LOL! He is certainly of age.

I just don't think I can see Mr Knightley as a blond! Unless it was Philip Glenister, maybe, and he's probably too old.

Great idea! How old is Mr Knightley: 35? Glenister could pass if you reckon people looked older than their age then. I've never yet seen a Mr Knightley I approved of.

I was quite a fan of Jeremy Northam in the role.

I thought he was one of the better things in that film, though I still preferred Mark Strong in the ITV version.

I had such a violent dislike for Kate Beckinsale in that version that I may not have given him a fair chance.

I had a similar reaction to Gwyneth Paltrow in the film. Also to Ewan McGregor's bizarre hair.

Ewan McGregor and his hair were two of the least good things in that film. Which is odd, because in general, I really like him.

I didn't mind Gwyneth too much but I have too admit that with each viewing, she does become exponentially more irritating.
