I just happened to turn on the telly which was left on BBC2 from last night. I do not normally watch 'The Daily Politics Show' but I am very glad to have seen Michael Howard being asked to comment on the 'big story of the day': John Sergeant's withdrawal from Strictly Come Dancing. Hee hee hee.

I wish he hadn't pulled out - I liked watching him and I was especially looking forward to his jive. Though I can quite see that he might not have been looking forward to it so much. I'd have loved to have seen him in the final, and especially to have seen what the judges had to say about it.

And I'm a little gutted that he didn't do it before Cherie went out. I wanted her to get to the final, too.

He has? Shame. Despite Arlene's protests on 'Take 2' that the rules shouldn't chage re: the voting, I bet they do change next series. Either that or they choose who to invite onto the show more carefully.

I shall not comment, however, on this being the 'big story of the day' politically. :)

Half the fun is seeing the crap dancers in the first few rounds, though ...

Exactly. And I quite like it when one or two of the bad dancers gets through more than a few rounds, too.

I can't quite work out how they would change the rules to avoid this situation without getting rid of the public vote altogether. Maybe if it was a negative vote - vote for the one you want to leave? Harder to keep one person in like that.
