Listen Again

This week's edition of The Write Stuff has J. K. Rowling as its featured author. It's worth listening to just for the jokes in the first 'read your favourite snippets' section. I haven't got to the end yet, but I'm looking forward to the author pastiches as well.

I've never listened to that before but it was quite fun. I got all the Harry Potter ones and most of the others too. How could they not get Anne of Green Gables? I knew as soon as they mentioned the hair catastrophe.

It is quite fun. Sometimes it irritates me with its Quote Unquote-esque smugness. But the pastiches can be excellent.

I was shocked that they didn't know Anne, either. As soon as she said 'Marilla' I knew.

That's exactly when I knew as well. :-)

I was a bit shocked that they didn't recognize Anne, but then I have to say the audience response was hilarious. Thanks for recommending this--it was a very fun listen.

I got it on "Prince Edward Island".

This is my new favourite radio programme. Simon Brett did an absolutely brilliant Philip Roth skit last week. No wonder clips keep appearing on Pick of the Week.

It definitely has its moments. Sometimes I find it a bit smug, but the pastiches are usually very good.

I enjoyed those, even though I have never read any Philip Roth!

I've only read Portnoy's Complaint years ago and seen the film of Goodbye Columbus. It was still funny, as you say.
