19 and 21 aren't really too young or at least wouldn't have been considered so a number of years ago. And Nick and Patrick had known each other for many years before becoming a couple. Nowadays, of course, people do have various relationships before settling down but it doesn't seem to help them stay together longer if the divorce figures are anything to go by.
