Fictional Characters

Nicked from

[profile] leapin_jot- I have this list ready prepared from long hours of thought!

1. Lord Peter Wimsey
(I know you had this too, [profile] leapin_jot but honestly, I've had a crush on him for at least 15 years. ) Plus I just think he would be so interesting to talk to, and so wonderfully polite.  *sigh*  Why aren't real men like this?

2. Jo March
Wouldn't you love to try to persuade her to say yes to Laurie and just see what came of it?

3. Dorothea Brooke (Ladislaw)
She's a character who has always fascinated me.  I'd love to ask her about Mr Casaubon and the disappointment of her first marriage.  I'd like to know where her high ideals and principles come from and how she finds life with the delectable Will.

4=. Elizabeth Bennet.
I think she'd be lots of fun to meet and giggle with.

4=. Mr Darcy
I could just look at him.  Or I could try to tease him out of his shy, proud silence.  Either way, really.

6.  Horatio Hornblower
(especially if he really does look like Ioan Gruffudd!).  Complex, clever, shy, lots of great stories to tell.

7. Charlie Weasley.
Some of you may be surprised to find he's so far down the list.  A relatively recent crush.  Plus, I'm not absolutely sold on the idea of real life dragons.

8. Nicola Marlow.
I'd love to meet a grown-up Nicola and see what she's done with her life.

9. Anne Blythe (nee Shirley)
I'd like to meet her and Gilbert and all their many offspring.  I hope they'd be as nice in real life as they are in the books.  Though I wonder if I mightn't find her a bit irritatingly nice in real life?

10. Charlie Bucket
I did think about Willy Wonka, but he scares me.  I think it would be lots of fun to have Charlie show me round the chocolate factory.

So go on then, tell me who you'd pick and why.

ETA:  I've just looked at this again and realised I have no Georgette Heyer characters at all.  Clearly, one would need a separate list for them but here I'll just add Lord Vidal and Mary Challoner, the Grand Sophy, Prudence Merriott and Jasper Damerel.
