In which Ros follows a strategy so convoluted as to be worthy of a daytime TV quiz show

So, 8 people signed up for the BAFAB draw. I included [livejournal.com profile] callmemadam who sneaked in after the deadline. ;)

At first I thought I would just use a random number generator in good old-fashioned Pioneer Woman style. But the thing is, she always has thousands of entries, doesn't know any of them, and is more self-controlled than me. I found I just kept clicking the button thinking, 'Ooh, look, it's randomly chosen X. And now Y.' And then it wasn't random at all.

So, I exercised some further cunning and got the random number generator to give me a random sequence of numbers from 1 to 8. It came up with: 2 1 3 7 8 5 6 4. Then I did the random number thing again, this time without being able to instantly tell who the numbers related to. And I got 4. The 4th number in the sequence was 7. And the 7th commenter was...

Hooray! A book will be on its way to you shortly, Bel.

The management's decision is final. No cash alternative will be offered. No discussion about the method of selecting the winner will be entered into. Thank you for your co-operation.

WOW! I'm so excited. I nearly didn't enter because I felt a bit guilty over putting you to the trouble and expense but then I thought I'd love to read what you selected for me. Thank you so much. I will be eagarly looking forward to it arriving. Hopefully, the post from the UK isn't as slow as the Canadian postal service and it doesn't depend on ice floes.

Coo, you're so good at maths...
Congratulations to [personal profile] tdu000 and sorry I didn't read the deadline correctly. Not what Nicola would have done.
