girlyswot: (What ho Yuletide)

Not wanting to break Yuletide...

...does anyone happen to know if the allowed html mark up includes the ability to centre text?

I'm writing a Yuletide treat which is one of the most fun things ever. Though I really don't know if I can pull it off. It's weird writing for something which was not text-based in the original canon. But I am making extensive use of the online thesaurus and I am giggling a lot.

ETA: I have now uploaded it and it looks fine. Now I have two other stories I want to try and write in the next three and a bit days. One of which really deserves a novel, not a short fic, though that is all it's going to get.

I looked all through the 'treats wanted' posts just to reassure myself that I wasn't on the Yuletide orphan list. Though actually, being on the list is probably good, because there's more chance you'll get multiple stories.

I did that too. Last year I got three stories and felt very spoilt.

Also, I know exactly what you mean about the non-book fandoms. Apparently I can write them, but it keeps trying to turn into present tense. Very weird.

Mine is a bizarre mix of dialogue (with no tags at all) and present tense imperative. I think it makes sense, but I wouldn't swear to it.

It sounds fascinating.

That is odd. I can write non-book fandoms in exactly the same way as I write book fandoms, but then I cut my fic-writing teeth in Star Wars. Actually I think I've written more in non-book fandoms.

Yes, maybe it's something to do with where you start out? I can make it turn into past tense, but it always seems to want to come out as present tense when I start writing, if that makes sense.
