I do that. I like seeing how the author gets me to the end. I don't usually thrillers or mysteries so quite often the ending isn't a big deal any way. And I am a chronic rereader.
I'm not sure whether I will go to the end in the last Harry Potter. I will probably have a few sneak peeps at later chapters. And I don't actually mind if someone tells me anything that's going to happen. I will take any leaked information with a pinch of salt as it's bound to be out of context.
I won't wait for the paperback this time - I did for GoF. I want to be able to compare notes with other readers. Besides, my daughter will want her copy at 9:01 am, when it goes on sale. I wouldn't queue up at midnight but 9:01 seems like quite a good time to go to the local bookshop.
