But alas, you are right, the ticket mishap is the one that happened in real life - all the way through: paper ticket; one hour and $100 to get a copy. Secret Santa's husband was not amused. She told him one day it will make for a funny story.
As for Ella, I wouldn't put anything past her. It's not bad luck, you know. She'll never change. In the original version of this story (which was growing out of control), she was supposed to make her way from Zurich to Rome, in the process bringing about the resignation of the Swiss Transport Minister and the collapse of Italian Fashion Week. Perhaps she can do that on her honeymoon? :-)
