Sorry, Meagan. I was going by websites for skiing in Romania, combined with my European road atlas (it's 10 years old) and Google Maps. The ski area I mention is a real one and not far from the village (also a real one) to which Charlie and Valerie hike. I loved that their names were close enough to be confusing. They are not in eastern Romania, but rather what I would call north-central. E-53 is the nearest motorway to access either town, but it's a good distance from them.
